Today we’ve got a special treat for you from the team at Packt Publishing. They’re offering up two free chapters from two of their popular Magento Design & Development Books. Plus, they’re giving away a full copy of each book to 2 lucky winners who retweet this post! Read on for the excerpts and contest details.

If you’ve ever been interested in getting into e-commerce design, you’ve probably run across Magento. Magento is an excellent e-commerce platform that offers a wide array of creative opportunities for any web designer. Getting a start can be tough though, so to help out, Packt Publishing is sharing two free chapters with our readers.

    WOW this came at the perfect time! The company I work for just rolled out v2 of the built on Magento. It was built by a 3rd party firm but there is no reason why I can’t learn about myself.

    please please do more than 1 post about Magento….

    I have seen other sites try to cover this topic but they never go into much detail about eCommerce systems like Magento in more than 1 post. they would do 1 post a week for a total of 4 or 5 posts in a month each post would be on a different system… I got more info from going to the systems sites then what the blog did in 1 post.

    What a great giveaway! Theming can be tough- but there’s no better way than to jump right in, read up, and get your eCommerce hands dirty!

    Magento U is also offering a 2-day, instructor-led course, “Core Principles for Theming in Magento”. It would be a great way to develop skills for customizing the look and feel of websites on the Magento eCommerce platform.
