Adaptive Blog Theme: Session Complete!

This entry is part 14 of 14 in the Adaptive Blog Theme: From Photoshop to WordPress Session
« Previous

We’ve reached the end of our Adaptive Blog Theme Session – what a session it’s been! If you’ve followed along from the beginning; starting off in Photoshop, through to HTML, CSS and ultimately into WordPress development, hats off to you. If you’ve yet to dive in, take a look at what’s in store for you..

A big thanks goes out to Adi who never once let the size of this project (over 14 hours of teaching, across 47 screencasts) intimidate him!

    • Adi Purdila

      Hey there,

Yes, you can use the theme for your blog, no worries. Just don’t sell it as your own theme :)

Hi Adi, I’ve started this series from the beginning because I hope to one day develop my own wordpress themes to sell on themeforest. Will this series help me with that? Greatly appreciated, thanks!

    • Adi Purdila

Well, I think it will definitely teach you the basics of theme development which is what you need right now :) I hope you’ll like the series.

      • squinn

That was fast thanks a lot!

Your website not only looks shit it isn’t responsive either…

    • klink

Nice, Leeching onto a great tutorial with your shitty site. Either stupid or ballsy.

      • http://www.facebook.com/thechrisgreenhough Chris Greenhough

I agree, those really are some god-awful websites you’re promoting, there. Unfortunately, it’s people like you who are killing this industry with cheap, shoddy work. Not exactly the “Stunning Desings [sic]” you proclaim, either. And let’s not mention the English language, or minor trifles like proofreading. So, affordable, certainly, but professional? Hardly.

Hi , Adi I am from turkey , you admire me , Thanks for each your tuts , I just want to learn how do you align html tags or css attrs in coda

    • Adi Purdila

      Hello,

I just use simple tabs for aligning those :)

  • Andrew Jones

Great tutorial by the looks of things. I’ve downloaded the videos direct to my HD and notice above there should be 47 screencasts, yet I only have 26 video files (17 for the css, 5 for the psd and 3 for the html). Am I missing some files or have some screencasts been combined.

I look forward to going through them.

  • Toi

Adi thank you for everything you teach, you are awesome!
I just wanted to ask you if i’m making custom theme for wordpress and i have different page structure for two pages (example on about me i don’t have sidebar) should i make another html file for about me specific or i can do it in WP after and stick like you just with home and article?

    • Adi Purdila

      Hi Toi,

In this case I’d do a generic full width page template (no sidebar) and one with a sidebar. So, you can use the full width one for the about page and the other one for normal blog pages.

I hope that answers your question :)

      Adi

      • Toi

Oh, thank you Adi… So.. logic is like i’m making a template for every page that is different?

Thank you very much again you save me from couple days in frustration.. :)

        • Adi Purdila

Yep, for every page that has a different structure, not content.

          • Toi

And I’ll let myself to ask you one more maybe stupid question…
Should i make a new css file for every page or should put everything in one…

Thanks so much for your time… greetings from Serbia!

          • Adi Purdila

No, just keep one very well structured CSS file.

          • Toi

            You are officially the God!
You have no idea how much you helped me! Thank you from heart!
            Love you Adi <3

          • Adi Purdila

            Hehe, you’re welcome :)
