We Want Your Quick Tips!

I love Quick Tips; in the time it takes to warm up a Pot Noodle you can have absorbed some nugget of information which fundamentally changes the way you work. And everyone has tips to share! Send us your web design quick tips – we’ll pay $75 for each one we agree to publish..

Note: I’m in no way suggesting you have to eat Pot Noodles – ever.

What Are we Looking For?

If it’s web design, we’re interested. Perhaps you have a quick tip on the following topics?

  • Applications (Photoshop, Fireworks, some of Adobe’s Edge products, code editors etc.)
  • Productivity apps and services (Dropbox, Evernote, TextExpander, Basecamp etc.)
  • HTML and CSS
  • SASS and Less
  • Workflow
  • Dealing with clients
  • Planning, wireframing and prototyping
  • SEO
  • Analytics
  • UX
  • Typography
  • Content Management Systems

Whatever it may be, you need to be able to clearly communicate your idea within just a few minutes of screencasted footage, or a few paragraphs of written tutorial.

Sharing your Quick Tip might just help someone who’s been looking for a solution to a problem for ages! Submit any thoughts you have through the usual form – I can’t wait to hear them..

Note: Want to add some source code? Type <pre><code> before it and </code></pre> after it. Find out more

What about that Fireworks series that was in the making…? :(

    • ianyates

Unfortunately, the initial author who was working on the Fireworks series had to pull out. *But* I’ve since enrolled the help of another Fireworks expert and he’s working on a massive screencast series as we speak.. Sorry for the wait – hang fire a bit longer!

      • Lucas

Glad to hear! :) Can’t wait!!

Ian, is it best to submit a fully complete quick tip, or run the idea by you first?

    • ianyates

I’d definitely recommend you run all ideas past me first – even a good idea might not be accepted if we’ve already covered it here, on another Tuts+ site, or have it planned for the future..

  • Kyle

I’d love to pitch some idea’s for Envato, could you direct me to the place where I can do so? :)

  • Kyle

I don’t mean for an article idea, so I didn’t want to submit it threw the link above (This is a continuation from my last comment).

    • ianyates

Hey Kyle – head on over to http://envato.com/#contact-us where you’ll find a contact form for all the various arms of Envato. Thanks!

  • M. Ahmad Zafar

I would like to submit a video but your submission form has no field for it. The Sample of your content is not accepting video. Its a 21MB video which I have

    • ianyates

Just ideas at the moment please! I can’t guarantee I’ll accept all submissions, so I wouldn’t want you to waste time. If you’d like me to see a demo or a video, just post a link to it (dropbox, for example). Thanks :)

      • M. Ahmad Zafar

Post a link here? In the comments?

        • ianyates

If you send through your idea via the submission form, you can include a link to any resources in the description field. Hope that makes sense :) Otherwise, throw a link in the comments here, I’m sure the readers will give you their honest opinions!

  • qwerty

Oh god, not Disqus comments here too!
