It’s Been an Amazing Launch Month at Webdesigntuts+!

It’s hard to believe that it’s just been a month since we launched here at Webdesigntuts+, but it’s the truth! Thanks to the rest of the Tuts+ network and an amazing community, we’ve set some pretty impressive milestones already… and the next month will only get better. Read on to find out what’s next!

Launch Month Review

Not bad for a launch month!

Our readers (that’s you!) make up one of the best communities of designers, developers and creatives out there!

As you can see from the graphic, we set some great milestones in just 30 days since the launch. The reason is pretty simple: our readers (that’s you!) make up one of the best communities of designers, developers and creatives out there!

The Tuts+ educational network is stronger than ever, and we’re excited to keep on bringing you content that’s helpful, informative, and hopefully a little bit fun and provocative as well. Our goal is to bring content that does more than just teach, we want to spark discussions and idea generation that everyone can benefit from.

What’s Next?

While our launch month was great, the next month is going to get even better! We already have a stellar lineup of in depth Articles, Tutorials, and some exclusive Freebies from a diverse and talented group of authors.

We’ve listened to the content requests as well, so we’re specifically going to start bringing in more:

  • Complete Design Tutorials
  • In Depth Site Critiques
  • Design Theory Posts
  • Resource Roundups (useful lists, not linkspam!)

Subscribe for Updates (it’s Free!)

The only way to make this even better is to keep on growing the community here. So, if you like what we’ve been delivering so far, sign up for updates. Subscribing is free, easy, and we offer a variety of ways to suit your preference.

Use the links at the top right corner of the site to subscribe via email, RSS, Twitter, Facebook, or anything other way you can think up :)

Get Involved

Lastly, I want to personally invite everyone to get involved! Leave a comment on articles that you enjoyed, start a discussion, or connect with us on Twitter, Facebook, or our Flickr Web Design Group where we already have hundreds of people posting their own great designs!

You can get paid to contribute your own articles and tuts: Write for us!

If you have any of your own comments, suggestions, or requests: post them down below in the comments – we read each and every comment and they play a huge role in what kinds of content we publish each week.

To everyone out there that’s already been helping to make this launch month one to remember: Thanks!

Wow, congratulations! I can’t wait to see how far it will go within a year :)

  • Billy

    Congratulations!

I’ve been following Tuts+ since it was basically just PSDTUTS and I have to say that the articles published on this site in the first month have been some of the most helpful and relevant articles that I’ve encountered on the whole network. I think the focus on theory and principles rather than specific software tools has helped a lot in this regard.

I look forward to seeing where the site goes!

Thanks a bunch Billy – Glad to hear that people are enjoying the “theory” heavy posts in addition to the regular tuts stuff. I personally think it’s an element that’s missing from a lot of web-design blogs; Often these kinds of sites are either all tutorial based, or all theory based… there aren’t very many that really strive to push a diverse content spread. :) Cheers!

Cool, congratulations on the new tutsplus is very nice!
I would like to propose an idea to help developers of Brazil and you too, making translations of the tutorials network for Portuguese language and get more authors here and even in other countries that speak Portuguese.

I’m studying English and it would help me greatly to improve it.

If we can talk about it better be grateful.

    Hug.

Hi Anderson – that’s not a bad idea – if anyone out there wants to volunteer to translate articles into other major languages, I’ll be glad to host them on the site here.

  • Yvette

Thank you for all the info for web design. I am looking forward to have more design tutorials.

    Really good launch Month !

I agree with “Anderson” I fully Understand reading English but i’m poor in writhing. As a french person i’ll love to writhe In my own language on this butiful idea website.

Another idea… Code design is another things rare on internet… I mean, all thé ways to organise website coding in more biutiful way like all thé framework do easyly and automatic way. But we dont love all automatic way! Want hapen to a automatic design !? It finishes to be limited in controls…

So watth about a new “plus” site for background code organisation and methods. Nice Idea huh ?

But tanks you all for make me impatien to read all next posts. I’m get fanatic !

I always wanted PSDTuts to feature web sites and not just random photo stuff. Now I’ve got it!

I’m interested in step by step Photoshop tutorials for creating various sites, and in particular *the reason* for each step. I am already fairly fluent in Photoshop in terms of *how*, I want to know the *why* of each step.

If you can solidly provide PS tutorials for web design that includes the why of the art, then there’s no stopping this place.

Thanks Jonatan! We definitely have some solid Photoshop tutorials coming up, so keep an eye out over the next month :)

  • http://www.nionwebdesign.com Niels Pilon

    Congratulations and well deserved!

Already was following net.tuts and psd.tuts for months but the new webdesign.tuts-site was exactly what I was looking for. Great combination of design theory, design in general en usefull tools for webdesigners.

Would like to see an article about webdesign with Fireworks instead of Photoshop. Never tried it myself yet but some people prefer Fireworks above Photoshop.

Oh and tell Jeffrey to finally publish the PSD to HTML5/CSS article on nettuts that covers the first design here ;-)

      Hi Niels,

That tut from the first design is actually coming soon – I emailed Jeffrey a week ago about it and he said it’s on it’s way :)

I also have some FW tuts coming soon as well – it’s a bit harder to find authors to volunteer for these, but it’s slowly but surely happening.

      Thanks for the comments!

  • Brett

Great launch month because you’ve been posting some great articles that make us wanting to come back. I haven’t read a bad article on this site yet. It’s pretty great. I’ve been waiting for envato to launch this for a long time and they sure have delivered :)

Thanks for the comment Brett – be sure to let us know if you do ever run across a “bad” article. I’m trying to post a little bit of everything – some posts for beginners, some for veterans, some for technical skill, some for theory. Cheers!
