Learn jQuery in 30 Days

Learn jQuery in 30 Days

Sometimes, it’s easy to become overwhelmed by how much there is to learn in this industry. If jQuery happens to be on your personal “need to learn soon” list, then I’m happy to announce my new course: “Learn jQuery in 30 Days”. If you’ll give me fifteen minutes a day for the next month, I’ll help you become a jQuery pro – and it’s free!

How Does it Work?

Learn jQuery

Sporadically, your skills will be put to the test, when you take the interactive quizzes!

Once you enroll (free) via email, each day, you’ll receive a 10-15 minute video lesson. As you might expect, every episode will build upon the one it proceeds, and, sporadically, your skills will be put to the test, when you take the interactive quizzes!

Along the way, you’ll learn the essentials (querying and manipulating the DOM), while incrementally working your way up to more advanced topics, such as jQuery’s AJAX methods and plugin development.

I worked particularly hard to make the process of picking up this new skill as easy as possible for everyone – even if you have very, very little JavaScript experience. So…do you want to join me?

I guess you’ll just have to be patient :) This is an exercise in sticking to a learning schedule as much as anything. When the pace is dictated for you, you’ll be surprised how much extra information you absorb. Hang in there!

Yeah – just give it time. Or, wait until March, when the entire course is available.

If you need something right now, then you might try Code School. Their beginner’s jQuery course is free at the moment. I found it mostly review myself, but you might like it.

I find that doing some programming in the same language every day builds the familiarity I need to get comfortable working in it. So, even if I end up doing more review than new learning, I’m still going to follow the lessons. I learned WP theming from Way’s videos awhile back, and it was a great resource. I’m pretty stoked to see how this goes.

Thank you so much for launching this learning series. Instead of scavenging different blogs for tuts, we’re gonna get all the tuts and resources here itself. Sounds delicious :)

Love the idea! But I do have a question: Will this be available on Nettuts+/Webdesigntuts+ after the 30 days? Or is it just for this month? To be precise, this isn’t gonna expire, right? Because as much as I’d love to watch it now, my finals start from the coming week… :(

Oh and one more question: Does Jeffrey ever sleep?! Mind blowing stuff.

Yes – in March, the entire course will be available for viewing at your desired pace.

Really enjoying this so far, I’ve been meaning to learn jQuery for a long time but finding time to do it has been hard – these bite sized chunks fit in well with my routine – the fact it is broken into days gives people like me a kick up the butt to get it done so for that you have my thanks.

I’m really impressed together with your writing abilities as well as with the layout in your weblog. Is that this a paid subject matter or did you customize it your self? Anyway stay up the nice high quality writing, it’s rare to see a great blog like this one these days..
