Weekend Presentation: Jason Santa Maria On Web Typography

Just because you didn’t get to go to that awesome conference, it doesn’t mean you have to miss out! Take a break this weekend and learn from Jason Santa Maria as he talks about his favorite topic: Typography.

The Video

This was recorded at Build 2011, a web conference/workshop/festival/event which takes place in Belfast, N. Ireland. It’s coming back in 2012 too – so if you’re in the area, check it out.

That was fantastic. I picked up a couple new tools and fonts, and learned a bunch more about choosing my fonts.

Absolutely fantastic video, I would recommend this to anyone. Jason really nailed it when talking about being creative with your font selections. It inspired me to completely reconsider which font choices I had made on my own site.

Fantastic, this is one of the best videos I have seen on typography recently. A font can really make or break your design. This is certainly the best time to be a designer. Thank you for sharing this video. Love it!

This video has really made me think about how typefaces should be used and review ways that I can improve upon my current use of typefaces. Wonderful presentation!

Honestly, that was a fantastic presentation, and indeed, inspiring! It’s amazing what can be done with type, web type, and the contrast and decisions made!

What a pro! Great presentation. I honestly never thought about keeping a ‘font palette’ for more than a single project. I usually drive myself nuts looking at endless amounts of fonts every time I need to create a ‘voice’ for a design but this idea of keeping an index of 5-or-so fonts that I’m extremely comfortable with sounds like a HUGE optimization of my workflow. This tip jumped out since my process was so flawed in that area, but the entire talk was insightful and from one of css3 typography’s most creative personalities! thanks!
