Web Design Workshop #11: Granata Mobile

Web Design Workshop is our regular community project where we ask readers to submit their work for your friendly, constructive criticism. It’s the perfect way to learn, offer opinions and have your own work critiqued! This week, kitchen furniture from Argentina..

Rules of Engagement

Play nice! We deliberately select work which will benefit from advice and pointers. If you can’t be constructive in your comments, don’t. Other than that, offer any advice you can give. Feel free to link to examples and images which back up your points.

The Design

Web Design Workshop #11

This is a website that I’ve developed for a client. I like the combination of colours and the way the information is organized. I’m improving the weights of the images because in my point of view the website is a little slow. – Manuel Pascual

Looking for constructive criticism on your own work? Submit it for a workshop – most but not all submissions are published. Be patient though, there could be a queue..

Simple neat & bold, if one thing I should say is that it needs just a little bit of tweaking when it comes to FONTS .. Good Luck !!

Muy buena compañero, un excelente trabajo!
Un saludo desde el otro lado del charco!

  • Fily

I like it, even though I would reduce the amount of fonts to three instead of five. Keep up the good work!

It’s very nice and simple..i don’t find fonts tweaking much powerful for this design. Really nice work!

The test shadow in the navigation needs to be a lot more subtle. Also, you’ve got this huuuuuuge image right at the top of the page, with a tiny little information something in its bottom left. Ok, that’s a nice picture, but a nice picture alone is not going to sell your product. Put some content around the edges of the image.

I think that the client is definitely happy with this design. Very nice!

Simplemente muy buena , cumple con todos los requisitos que uno espera cuando busca informacion en una pagina…

I have a few notes, however I am quite busy and will try to put them down into words and add as I find the time. I will start by focusing on the Navigation.

I love the choice of color and the simpleness you are trying to achieve. This simpleness however is slightly disturbed as the subtext underneath the page/navigation links. As the padding between the subtext is not consistant, the navigation becomes unbalanced which creates noise and can make the navigation harder to follow.

I would recommend aligning Both title and sub text to the left and making sure their is an equal amount of padding between each navigation link (I would recommend 40px).

I would suggest having a different set of images for each navigation page… Having the same slideshow on each page is a bit distracting, and doesn’t make you quite as aware that you are on a different page… In general it’s a very nice design.
