Why anyone would use YouTube for their videos is beyond me.

“Let’s play a 3minute ad before you watch what you really came here to see…”
“Oh…now that’s finished, let’s not load your video anymore.”

You didn’t see any ads on these screencasts, did you?

He’s just referring too the changes YouTube has made to become more ad based.

The ads are a small price to pay for the visibility you’ll get on YouTube.

I hope you’re not proposing Vimeo as an alternative, because literally every video I watch that’s hosted on Vimeo loads so slowly it’s unwatchable (and my internet connection is fine). Perhaps that’s just me that’s getting the speed issues, but until I can watch a video the whole way through without it stopping to buffer, I wouldn’t go anywhere near Vimeo.

      YouTube all the way.

I’ve been producing on YouTube for a number of years. After the changes in advertising my check from GoogleTubes has basically quadrupled. I spend a lot of time shooting and editing my videos (mostly tutorials and my random rants sprinkled with some reviews and a tech podcast) the only way I get paid is because of the ads and like mentioned it’s a small price to pay for what you get from YT. THe same reason we pay for TUTS+ Premium membership so the beat can go on. Why are folks complaining about the ads… Kind of stingy I think.

I just changed my background yesterday and now I saw this tut so I changing it again.. Thanks great Tut.

Download ad blocker for firefox and I think they have it for chrome, I haven’t seen an ad on youtube for years, sometimes I forget they have ads until I’m talking to or skyping a friend and I send them a link and hear something different and when I say “that’s not the link” they say it’s an ad.

Exactly what MXL are saying up there – Ad Blocker has lead me to not seeing a YT advert in years. Definitely a worthy purchase!
