I don’t know too much about MACs, but in Windows, if you CTRL click on anything on the canvas, it’ll auto select the layer for you. Since I realized that, I rarely use the auto-select checkbox :)

“read the instruction manual, they said, maybe has something that you don’t know, they said…”

      And here we go!

Oh lord, why I didn’t know about that? Both tips, the ctrl+click and the auto select (I always saw that option there, but never tried to use it , AND THE QUESTION IS… WHY? HAHA. dumb feeling). Very very very usefull! Thank you for sharing!

I always hated that feature. Its not accurate at all.

You need to select layer from the dropdown for an accurate select coupled with show transform controls for a better visual. I found it very useful.

I don’t use it at all, I always use Ctril + click. It’s much clever I think! But thanks for tip, special moment when you discover the function haha

Hi! Thank you for sharing!)) amazing option!

I remember when I first found out about this I was amazed.
I now usually CTRL + click, however when layers are grouped it will select the group folder only.
This is often useful when moving a group or needing to select it,
however if a layer is nested inside a group the way to select the specific layer is ALT + Click.
Extremely useful info. A must-know shortcut for anyone working with PS. :-)
