A “triadic” color scheme uses three colors equally spaced around the color wheel. Here’s more about them, in sixty seconds!
Three is a Magic Number
Considering there are six base (primary and secondary) colors you can easily create a triadic color scheme.
Similarly to complementary color schemes, triadic combinations offer great contrast (although not quite to the same degree) and an excellent degree of harmony. For good balance it’s important you emphasize one color more than the others; failure to do this will result in competing visuals.
