1.1 Welcome

Hello and welcome to this Envato Tuts+ course. I’m Adi Purdila, and in this course I’ll show you five creative CSS hover effects for images.

You’ll most likely use these for image galleries, but they’ll work just as well for single images. There will be no JavaScript on these projects, and I’ll use vanilla CSS so anyone can follow along.

So, without further ado, let’s jump straight in and create effect #1. See you in the next lesson.

1.1 Welcome

Hello and welcome to an Envato Tuts+ course. I'm Adi Purdila, and in this course, I'll show you how to create five creative CSS hover effects for images. You'll most likely use these for image galleries. But they work just as well for single images. Now there will be no JavaScript involved, and I'll be using Vanilla CSS, so anyone can follow along. Now, let's have a quick look at the five effects we'll be creating. We'll start with something simple that's using CSS filters. In lesson two, we'll use transform to create a nice zoom in and zoom out effect. Then in lesson three, we'll start adding captions. And use opacity and scale to display these. In lesson four, we'll combine captions with filters and transformations. And finally in lesson five, we'll combine all of them to create a more complex hover effect. So without further ado, let's jump straight in and create effect number one. See you in the next lesson.
