1.2 What Is Chart.js?

Hello and welcome back. In this lesson, I want to introduce you to Chart.js and to show you where you can find some more information. Now you can get to the Chart.js website at chartjs.org, and I will include the link for that in your course notes. And you can find everything you need to know about the framework here on the website. Now Chart.js is a JavaScript framework, which, as its name implies, allows you to very easily, with just a few lines of code, create your own charts in JavaScript using the HTML canvas object. And there are numerous types of charts we can create, we can create line charts, bar charts, pie charts, donut charts, etc. And as we work through this video course, we'll be looking at all of the different types of charts that we can create. Now if we go to the website, and then click on the documentation link, this is where you'll go when you need detailed information about all of the little things that Chart.js can do for you. It will give you information about how to configure your charts, how to style your charts. And there's a lot to read through here, and I would encourage you, if you have the time, to try to read through most of this yourself. But this video course will help you to get through the bulk of this information a lot quicker. But again, this is gonna be your best source of information, once you've gotten through the basics of this course, as far as figuring out what else Chart.js can do for you. So thank you so much for watching, in the next lesson, we'll talk about how to set up Chart.js on our websites.
