4.1 What’s Next?
As I was saying in the previous lesson, our demo is finished. But it has a long way to go to actually sell something and be successful. First of all, you need your own domain so your shop can be found at a more friendly web address and not a subdomain of myshopify.com. You can add one by going to Online Store > Domains. Yeah, just follow the instructions here and you'll be able to add your new domain to your online store. Now, you need a good looking theme. If you like the free ones from Shopify that I showed you, well great, use those. Otherwise, get a great theme. Don't be cheap. If it's $200 and it's amazing, go ahead and get it. In the long run, you'll be thankful you did that. I also recommend that you start a blog. Now, we have one right here. This is very important for your sales. A great salesman once told me that the blog educates and the website sells. So having a well-written blog puts you in a position of authority. And people will be more inclined to buy from you rather than your competitors. Then, probably the most important aspect is marketing because you can't expect people to just find your store online. Some will, of course, but you can't rely on that. You have to tell the world about it. That means social media promotions, advertisement, Google ads, email newsletters, all that good stuff. If it helps you, I will link some resources down below in the lesson notes. So feel free to check that out. Well, that's about it from me. Thank you very much for watching this course. I'm Adi Purdila, and until next time, take care.
