2.5 Working With Templates

Welcome to the fifth and final lesson of this short course. A great feature offered by Page Builder is templates. Essentially, they allow you to save layouts for further use, but also download pre-made layouts that match your page content. In this lesson, you'll learn how to work with templates. So let's begin right here in the same test page that we created in this course, and we'll hit this little button. It gives us two options, basically, My Templates or Template library. So let's save our current layout as a template. I'm gonna say, Test layout, just to be very original. Save Template, and now let's close this, and let's create a new page. So I'm gonna say, Test page number 2. I'm gonna select the Backend Editor because this is where I'm working right now. I'm gonna click this button, and I'm going to click on test layout. And this will add all of the elements that I used previously in this new page. So let's say this for example, I want to have this page without the video player. I'm gonna delete that, and without the gallery, so I'm gonna delete that. So I'm gonna hit publish. And now, we have our test page number two, which just contains these two elements. While our test page number one, or our initial test page, still contains the rest of the elements, so this hasn't changed. All of these templates, all they're doing is allow me to save a predefined layout and element collection and apply it to another page. Now, what if I want to create a new page, but I just can't seem to get started with it. Where do I begin? What elements do I put in it? Well, in that case, and let's go ahead and create yet another page. I'm gonna call it test page number three. Choose the backend editor. In that case, the Page Builder offers us a Template library. So we're gonna access that library, this actually asks us to activate the Page Builder, and activating it will take you to the support page, where you have to create an account. But I'm guessing this is all based on your purchase code from Code Canyon. So I'm gonna skip this step for now. Instead, I'm just gonna show you a few of the templates that are available for download here, because there are a lot of them. I can search for a specific template. For example, let's see, may have no contact pages, maybe about. They have a few about pages you can choose from, right? So let's click on this one. It's called about page with tabs, and it gives you a preview of how that page looks like. Maybe you want a different one. Let's see what else they have here. Look a hero section with intro. Again, you click on it and it gives you a preview. So, if you find something you like, you eventually download that template and you can use it in this page. And it will automatically import the layout and elements that you see here. All that's left to do after that is customize that page with your own content. A really powerful feature, templates, definitely a time saver. That was the final lesson of this short course. Please join me in the next video for the conclusion. Thank you for watching.
