1.1 Introduction
Hello, and welcome to this Tuts+ course. My name is Rachel McCollin, and in this course, I'm gonna show you how to get up and running with WooCommerce. I'll show you the settings, I'll show you how to set up your product and how to install and activate a theme. So let's get started. What I'm gonna do is take your questions as we go along, so please type your questions in the YouTube comments and I'll be pausing every now and then to answer them. First let's take a look at what we're gonna cover. So, we'll start by installing and activating WooCommerce. We'll then move on to looking at the WooCommerce settings in more detail. Because when you install WooCommerce, it gives you a setup wizard that lets you set up the basic things that you need to run your store but not absolutely everything. So I'll show you how to use the settings tabs to change those settings and to add more. We'll then look at the Storefront theme. The Storefront theme is the theme that's being developed especially for WooCommerce stores and you can use it to create a great site. And I'll show you how you can customize that. And then finally we'll look at some of the Product settings, because those are separate from the WooCommerce settings themselves. Okay, let's get started. In fact no, before I start, say I'm gonna forget things as we go along cuz this is live, if you want to tweet me while we're going along. I'm not gonna answer your tweets live cuz I've got enough to concentrate on getting through all this information in an hour. But if you wanna send me a tweet, I'm Rachel McCollin on Twitter. Feel free to tweet me as well as adding comments on YouTube, and I'll be looking at the tweets afterwards and I'll answer any questions that I can. And if I can't answer your questions, I'll try and point you in the direction of somebody else who can.
