Analogous Colors
Analogous colors sit next to each other on the color wheel. Take a look at the tools on color.adobe.com and play with some analogous schemes by dragging the slider round the wheel.

For web design I’d recommend you use a maximum of three colors, otherwise you risk over-complicating your composition.
Note: analogous colors lack contrast, so the scheme you’ll be creating won’t be as vibrant as a complementary one.
