6.1 Conclusion

You've made it to the end of this course. So thank you very much for watching, it was a rather lengthy one. So I do appreciate you sticking around until the very end. Now before we wrap things up, I just wanna make two quick points. Number one, as you saw in this course, we took a slightly different approach for designing this theme. So instead of going the usual way, designing the theme, page by page, we took a design system approach. And, I think it worked out really well actually, even if we didn't have time in this course to document everything. As you should be doing in the case of a real project. I think this approach allowed us to have a pretty good workflow, to be honest, you saw how easy it was to build a page once we had everything laid out, right? And you saw how easy it was to build components once we had all the bases figured out like colors and typography and sizing, spacing, all of that stuff. That made it really easy for us to just go ahead and grab this information and create whatever components we needed. So definitely a plus. So if you ask me now would you do it again? Would you use the same approach versus traditional? I would say yes, I think design systems are starting to become a more important part of any any project of any web project really. So having one from the very start, I think it's a great thing. Now the second point is that every WordPress theme or a WordPress site is different, right? Depending on your content, you might have fewer pages, more pages, the ones that I showed you here, the four, index post, archive and single, they're the basic ones, right? You should always have those you should always design for those, what if you have more pages? Simply repeat the same process that I showed you, right? You create a simple wire frame even if it's just like blocks like we did in this course, it gives you a visual idea of what's going on that page. And based on the components that you designed, you simply start copying and pasting, arranging. Then in the page using the grid system. And before you know it, you'll be able to create lots and lots of pages using that design system. So, I encourage you to experiment with this approach and see what you come up with. And by the way, this doesn't apply to just WordPress themes, it applies to any web project really. Even if you're just building a static website, the same thing applies, right? This course was about WordPress because I was trying to give you the basis, the basics of working with WordPress themes. But what I showed you here applies everywhere. With that said, I would like to thank you very much for watching again and until next time, I'm Adi Purdila. Take care
